JOSEPH C. PLUNGY CORINNA & DEXTER—Joseph C. Plungy, 84, died June 25, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Togus. He was born February 15, 1919 at Philadelphia, PA a son of Casmire and Martha Plungy. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and retired from Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna when it was closed. He was a member of the Shirley B. Carter Post V.F.W. and the Poulliot-Seavey Post American Legion, both of Dexter. He enjoyed fishing and Bingo. After his wife Elaine (Toce) died in 1990, he moved to Corinna to live with his son John. He is survived by his children, Donna Williams of Dexter, Joseph J. Plungy of Spokane, WA, John Plungy of Corinna, and Rose Sokoloski of Dexter; 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. At the request of the family there will be no visitation. A graveside committal service will be held 10 A.M. Wednesday, July 2nd, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Pastor A. Maurice Neal and the American Legion conducting the service. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter.
