Obituary
John A. Goulette Dies After Long Illness John A. Goulette, 62, died early Monday morning, Oct.4, at his home on School street after several months of illness. Requiem Mass was celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic church Wednesday morning at 9 o'c1ock. He was born in St. Joseph, Can., April 16, 1886, the son of Thomas and Celena (Baskett) Goulette. He lived in the states for 55 years, most of the time in Dexter and was an employee of the Abbott Company for many years. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic church and St. Jean Baptiste Society of Dexter. Requiem Mass was held at Anne's Catholic Church Oct. 6, for John A. Goulette of Dexter. Rev. C. J. Enright officiated, assisted by Rev. Martineau of this parish and Rev. McSweeney of East Millinocket. Active bearers were: Joe Dyer, Arthur Doyon, Philip, Mahil, Robert and Clicord Goulette. Honorary bearers were: Joseph Bolduc, Jack Richards, Edward Druin and Leo Perry. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. (The Eastern Gazette 10-14-1948, p.2)
