Obituary
Miss Lucy Kendall Mrs. Abby Lowell of this town received word Tuesday of the death in Oakland, Cal., of Miss Lucy Kendall, a former resident of Dexter and Skowhegan. Miss Kendall came East last summer with the remains of her brother, Harry Kendall, and while in this part of the country, spent a week in Dexter with Mrs. Lowell, Mrs. Imogene Weymouth and Mrs. Louise Mudgett, the last named being one of her closest friends while residing here. Her death was a shock to her friends here as she was in her usual good health when last heard from and was ill with pneumonia only a few days. She leaves two brothers, Alphaeus and Noah Kendall, both of California, and a cousin, Mrs. Abby Lowell, of this town. Miss Kendall was born in Abbot, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steadman Kendall. When quite young her family moved to Aroostook county then to Dexter, where they lived on Spring street where, Mrs. Wilson G. Hamilton now resides. Later the brothers went to Skowhegan and after the death of her parents, Miss Kendall went to live with them there, going with them later to California. With her brother Harry, Miss Kendall spent a year abroad, shortly before his death. She was appointed executrix of his estate and soon after completing its settlement, was taken ill. Her remains have been cremated as were her brother's, but it is not expected that they will be brought to Maine.
