Obituary
Mrs. Frank Howard News of the sudden death in Somerville, Mass., of Mrs. Mary Howard, wife of Frank Howard, came as a distinct shock to her relatives and friends here, where she visited only a few weeks ago. Besides her husband and son, Weston, she leaves another son, Stanley, who just entered Boston University. Mrs. Howard was formerly Miss Mae Bailey of St. Albans and with her husband she lived for many years in Dexter. She was a member of the Dexter Congregational church and of Wassookeag Chapter, O. E. S., of this town, a woman much beloved by all who knew her. She was 59 years of age. One sister, Mrs. Bertha Gleason of Florida, had only recently left the Howard home. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the First Universalist church, the Rev. W. H. Gould of Turner officiating. The services were largely attended by friends of the deceased, and there was a profusion of flowers as a silent tribute of fond friendship and respect from a wide circle of friends. The Wassookeag Chapter of which the deceased was a member, attended the services in a body. The bearers were J. W. Springall, C. H. Crosby, G. C. Ayer, Timothy Crowther, R. B. Card and W. E. Robinson. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
