Obituary
Mrs. Nettie Fields Mrs. Nettie Fields of this town was found dead early Wednesday afternoon, July 15th, by her son, Gordon, 21 years of age, when he returned from the village, where he had gone to get an injured hand dressed. Mrs. Fields had evidently started to get dinner and had fallen from a heart attack, bruising one arm badly on the stove as she fell. Medical Examiner Dr. O. R. Emerson of Newport was called and pronounced death due to heart failure. She had had an at-tack the day previous but apparently was in her usual health Wednesday and shortly before her death had gone to the mail box for their mail and had started to peel potatoes for dinner. The deceased was 65 years of age and leaves her husband, Eugene Fields, and seven children, Mrs. Edith Thomas, who lives on a farm, on the old Ripley road, Dana, Grover, Miss Mary, Aaron, Fayette and Gordon. The family came here from Caribou a dozen or more years ago, to the Hayes farm on lower Main street. They later moved to another farm on the Dover road and last fall to their present location on the old Taylor place, beyond the float bridge. The remains were taken to Caribou for burial.
