Obituary
Byron Giles Funeral services for the late Byron Giles were held Friday afternoon at his home on lower Main street, Rev. W. H. Johnson of the First Baptist church officiating. The bearers were Frank Carsley, Will Austin, Walter Fish and Will Robinson. Penobscot Lodge, F. & A. M., had charge of the service. There were many lovely floral offerings and the Neighborhood piece was especially beautiful. Mr. Giles had often been heard to say that the Gates would sometime be ajar for him and the piece was made up with that in mind. The gates were banks of carnations the arch was of roses of a deeper pink than the carnations. The base was of carnations, roses, swansonia and yellow snapdragons with two large bows of yellow ribbon. On the end of one of the streamers was the word "Neighbor". Interment was in the family lot in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
