Obituary	Leslie Curtis Leslie Curtis died Saturday night at his home on Spring street, after a long illness. He passed away in the room where he was born 72 years ago. All these years he has lived in this House which was that of his parents, the late Bernard and Martha Curtis. He leaves a wife, Mrs. Nellie Ireland Curtis, a niece, Miss Marion Curtis, of Guilford. Mr. Curtis. was a member of Plymouth lodge of Odd Fellows, Martha Washington Rebeckah lodge, Penobscot Lodge, F and A. M., and Wassookeag Chapter, O. E. S. He was a charter member of Eagle Engine Co., when it ws organized in 1875 and continued an active member of the company until ill health prevented his doing so, after which he was made an honorary member. For a number of years he was superintendent of the Dexter Water Works and he also served several terms as deputy sheriff. For several years he was engaged in the laundry business on Grove street, and later started the Dexter Bottling Works on lower Free street, which business he conducted until his retirement about ten years ago. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home. Rev. W. H. Johnson of the First Baptist church was assisted by Rev. Arthur J. Hamilton of the Methodist Church. The bearers were members or ex-members of the fire department, Albert L. Davis, Harry Wilkins, Zebulon Pomroy and Harry Dyer.
