Obituary
George D. Chandler George D. Chandler, local contractor, died Friday forenoon at his home on Lower Main street, at the age of 78 years. He retired about a year ago, because of failing health. He was born in Atkinson, but came to this town from Garland 42 years ago, where he has since made his home. Since the death of his wife, two years ago, his brother, Fred Chandler, and wife, have lived with him. Besides this brother he has four others, Charles and John Chandler, of this town, A. J. Chandler, of Bangor and Frank Chandler, of Dover-Foxcroft; a sister also survives, Mrs. Estelle Foster, of Dover-Foxcroft. Mr. Chandler was a member of Plymouth lodge, I. O. O.,F., of SiIver Lake Encampment, Canton Dexter, Patriarchs' Militant, and Martha Washington lodge of Rebekahs, all of Dexter. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at l.30 at the home, Rev. W. J. Metz of the First Universalist church officiating. Plymouth lodge conducted the ritualistic service of the order.
