Obituary
Mrs. Madora Hanson Funeral services for Mrs. Madora Hanson, widow of Charles E. Hanson were held from the Ripley Methodist church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Arthur J. Hamilton officiating. A profusion of beautiful floral tributes bore silent testimony of the high regard in which the deceased was held by all who knew her. Interment was in the family lot and the four sons, V. A. Hanson, Dexter, Carl A. Hanson, of Presque Isle, Fred Hanson of Mars Hill and Clarence Hanson, of Pittsfield, acted as bearers. Mrs. Hanson was born in Wellington July 8, 1851, but as. a young woman came to Ripley, where she passed nearly her entire life. Four years ago she came to the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Laura Tibbetts, in this town, where she passed away on Wednesday morning, Mrs. Hanson was a member of the Ripley Methodist church and Ripley Grange. She was a woman of exceptional charm and was known to all the children as "Aunt Dora" for she always took time to be kind to the children in her neighborhood. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carrie Vining, of this town and by four sons, Carl A. Hanson, of Presque Isle; Victor A. Hanson, of Dexter; Fred Hanson, of Mars Hill and Clarence Hanson, of Pittsfield, and by several grandchildren. The family have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends.
