Obituary
John E Clukey The death of John E. Clukey occurred this morning about 4.20 o'clock, having been in poor health for some time. Mr. Clukey was born in Dexter, Feb. 26, 1865. He is survived by one brother, James Clukey, of North Dexter, and four sisters, Miss Mary Clukey and Mrs, Emma Gilbert of this town, Mrs. Olive Dulac and Mrs. Sadie Gifford of Sangerville, also by two adopted daughters, Mrs. Paul V. Dyer, of this town with whom he made his home, and Mrs. Alice Bolduc of Thetford Mines, Canada. He was for many years employed in the weave rooms of local woolen mills as loom fixer and highly regarded as an expert mechanic. As a young man he was united in marriage with Rose Groleau of this town, and after her death, he married Mrs. Sarah Mountain Mr. Clukey was one of the town's best fishermen; for many years he was generally the first man to land the first trout from Lake Wassookeag when the spring fishing opened. John E. Clukey was a highly esteemed member of St. Ann's church and was respected and liked by a large circle of friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at the church.
