Obituary
Mrs. Thomas Higgins Elise Higgins, wife of Thomas Higgins passed away at 8:15 Monday evening, at her home on Grove street, after an illness of three weeks, at the age of 79 years. Had she lived until next February, they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She has been a resident of this town for about fifty-three years, coming here from St. Victor, P. Q. She was a woman of kindly disposition and a loving wife and mother. She will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends and relatives, who extend sympathy to the family. Besides the husband, she is survived by seven children, Mrs. Stephen Ambrose Mrs. Andrew Flynn, Mrs. Thomas Groleau of this town, Sister Mary Anita of St. Josephs convent, Old Town, Joseph Higgins and Delphis Higgins of Dexter, Edmund Higgins of Sarnia, Ont., and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Thomas Johnson, of Dexter. There are twenty-nine grandchildren ,and twelve great grandchil- dren. Services were held this morning at 9 o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic church with Rev. Father Surette officiating. Rev. P. A. Hayes, Dexter, Rev. T. J. Houlihan and Rev. Fr.. Manuette of Bangor were in attendance. Sister Mary Anita and Sister Imelda arrived Monday evening and will return this afternoon. There was a profusion of beautiful flowers at the home.
