Obituary
Dr. Byron G. Croxford Dr. Byron G. Croxford, 63, long one of the outstanding citizens of the community, died at his home Thursday, Oct. 27th, following a brief illness of pneumonia, having been at his office, Friday. He was born in Newburg, the son of Seth and Mary Curtis Croxford, graduated from the New York University Dental department and after a short time in East Dixmont, opened an office here and had been in active practice for 35 years. In May, 1897, he married Annie McAvey of Charleston, who survives with their son, Julian Croxford, of Newport. Always much interested in politics he was elected to the House in the session of 1921-22 and to the Senate in 1923-24. He was a member of the local lodges of Masons, Odd Fellows and Foresters and always intensely interested in everything for the betterment of the town. His loss will be most keenly felt in many circles.
