Obituary
Reverdy J. Plummer The death of Reverdy J. Plummer occurred Tuesday night at his home on Maple street, after two years of ill health and seven months of confinement to his bed. He has been tenderly cared for by his wife, Mrs. Annie Plummer and during the past two weeks his daughter, Mrs. L. B. Cook, of Rockland has been with them, besides the nurse. His wife and daughter, with two grandchildren, June and Earl Cook, and one brother, George Plummer, of Newport, are the only near relatives surviving. Funeral services will be held from the home Friday forenoon at 11 o'clock fast time, and the remains will be taken to Lincoln. Mr. Plummer was born in Fairfield 68 years ago, and spent his early life there. For 28 years he was employed by the Maine Central Railroad, in Waterville, Lincoln and Old Town. In Old Town he was joint station agent for the Bangor & Aroostook and Maine Central Railroads. While in that city he was treasurer of the Old Town Trust Co., now the Merrill Trust for a period of ten and a half years. Four years ago he came to Dexter to serve as Accountant for the Central Chevrolet Co., and bought a home on Maple street. He was a member of Phintheas Lodge, Knights of Pythias of Old Town. A man of great business ability combined with a splendid personality, his passing is deeply regretted by all who knew him.
