Obituary
EDGAR A. RUSS Prominent Resident of Dexter Passes While on Visit in Saco Edgar A. Russ, 82, one of Dexter's oldest citizens, died yesterday in Saco, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Marshall Oliver, after a short illness. Mr. Russ had been in the best of health this winter, active and alert. He had been the guest of his daughter for the past 10 days, taking a slight cold a few days ago and was Saturday confined to the house. Mr. Russ was born and always lived in Dexter, educated in the public schools, Maine Central Institute and Albany, N.Y., law school, and prac-ticed law for many years. At one time he was state sealer of weights and measures and later state inspector of fisheries. He also late in life carried on a general insurance business. He is survived by his wife, Eunice J. Russ, and four daughters, Mrs. James E. Wilcox, Rangeley; Mrs. Marshall Oliver, Saco; Mrs. W. C. Farnham and Mrs. Colon Flagg, both of Dexter, and a son, Arthur D. Russ, also of Dexter. The remains will reach here today. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
