Obituary
George A. Upton Funeral services for the late Geo. A. Upton of this town were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home on High street, where death occurred early Monday, after a long illness. The Odd Fellow service was held and the officiating minister was Rev. Horace H. Hayes of the Free Baptist church. The bearers were Albert L. Davis, Roy Thomas, Albert Bentley and W. E. Robinson. The remains were taken to Fort Fairfield for burial. George A. Upton was born in Carleton, St. John, N. B., 71 years ago, the son of the late Henry and Mary Hipsley Upton. When he was 26 years of age, he moved to Fort Fairfield, where he was engaged as a barber until 20 years ago, when he came to Dexter, where he continued in that business until retiring two years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Upton, by a son, Roy Upton, of Bangor, and a daughter, Mrs. Ross DuBourdieu, of Dexter; also a sister, Mrs. Jessie McMaster, of Montreal, and two grandsons, Wade Upton and John DuBourdieu, both of Dexter. He was a member of Pioneer lodge, I. 0. 0. F., of Northern Light Encampment and of the Rebekah lodge, all in Fort Fairfield.
