Obituary
Owen Brewster The death of Owen Brewster, sixteen year-old son of former Governor and Mrs. Ralph O. Brewster, occurred suddenly Saturday morning at their home on Zion’s Hill after a few days’ illness with influenza. Owen, who was their younger son, was a member of the junior class of N. H. Fay High School and a member of the Basketball team, playing a game only about a week before his death. He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the High School and All Maine orchestras, a talented violinist, a member of the High School debating team and an exceptional scholar. He was of a loveable personality, a young man whose untimely passing is deeply regretted by a wide circle of friends. Besides his parents, he is survived by an older brother, Charles F. Brewster. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family residence with many friends of the family there. The Christian Science service was read by George Eames of Bangor, also the committal service at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The bearers were schoolmates, Wendell Brewster, Shirley Carter, Richard Bither, Stanford Blake, William Metz, Harvey Hatch and Gilbert Bucknam. Among those from out of town to attend the services were Clifton M. Foss, Charles P. Foss and Mrs. John Pennell of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Haven Sawyer, Charles Murray, Chas. Herbert Smith, Simeon F. Sawyer, Mrs. Wm. Sawyer, Mrs. Bowden Nealey, C. O. Pozzy, Paul Carver and Roy Upton of Bangor; Roy C. Haynes of Ellsworth; and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Dustin of Corinna.
