Charles H. Wyman Of Dexter Dies, Aged 82 Charles H. Wyman, 82, a resident of Dexter for over 50 years, died Sunday morning, May 30, at the local hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Fairfield the son of J. Rodney Wyman and Caroline Fogg Wyman. Coming to this town in 1891, he purchased a furniture business from, E. M. Tibbetts. Prior to this he had served for three years as an apprentice manufacturing furniture and had worked for six years with a large furniture concern. In the early 1900's he built the Ramsay block, where he conducted a furniture and undertaking business, later selling out to Hutchinson & Gates Company. In company with the late Dr. C. H. Haines, Mr. Wyman built and opened the first moving picture theatre in Dexter, now the Park Theatre. They sold out to the present owners in 1919. For many years Mr. Wyman conducted Wyman's Music and second hand furniture store in the Grange building. In his younger days Mr. Wyman was prominent in musical circles. A member of Plymouth Lodge No. 65, I. 0. 0. F. for over 50 years, he was also a charter member of the Elkinstown club and a member of the Dexter club. He was married to Annie Kernevey who died a number of years ago. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Charles Guy Hume of Fairfield; Mrs. Keith Lander of South Hamilton, Mass., and a nephew, Rodney Wyman, of Fort Fairfield. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 o'clock at Crosby's funeral home. The Rev. T. A. Webb, pastor of the Universalist church officiated and Plymouth Lodge conducted the Odd Fellow service. Bearers were Arthur Jackson, Ernest Thompson, Fred Marsh and Morton Bullard. Interment was in Maplewood cemetery in Waterville.
