Obituary
Seba Sturtevant Seba Sturtevant passed away at his home on Pleasant street at 3:30 Wednesday morning, at the age of 74 years and eight months, after a short illness. Mr. Sturtevant was born in Dexter in 1860 and when a young man learned the tinsmith trade of Cyrus Foss, going from there to Bangor, where he worked for Wood & Bishop. In 1883 he was united in marriage to Flora Robinson of Bangor. After coming to Pittsfield his first position in town was with the late Henry Pooler, where he worked for some time before going into the plumbing business for himself, later entering a partnership with J. S. Haseltine. He was a highly respected citizen and enjoyed a wide circle of friends in this community. After retiring from the plumbing business, he worked for several years as a compositor in the Pittsfield Advertiser Office. The last of his life he devoted to reading the best in literature and was very well informed on many subjects. He is survived by two sons, S. T. Sturtevant of Bucksport, who is connected with the Eastern Manufacturing Co., of South Brewer, and L. C. Sturtevant of Thomaston, principal of the High school, and two daughters, Mrs. Forrest Smith of Hallowell and Mrs. Frank Blaisdell of thsi town, and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon at two o'clock, daylight saving time. Rev. Milo G. Folsom conducted the service. Undertaker Aubrey B. Call had charge of the funeral arrangements. The bearers were Lewis and S. Theron Sturtevant, Frank Blaisdell, Forrest Smith, Harry Elias and Bradford Bartlett. -Pittsfield Advertiser.
