Obituary
Mrs. Charles E. Higgins Mrs. Lora E. Higgins, 74, wife of Charles E. Higgins. died at her home on upper Main street Friday afternoon following an illness of several months. She was born in Alton, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth Merrill, and had lived in Dexter for the past 28 years. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Paul, Wendell, and Jasper Higgins, all of Dexter; a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Benner of Fairfield; a half-brother and a half-sister, Byron Nadeau of Derby and Miss Estelle Nadeau of Old Town, also five grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Ondon P. Stairs of the First Baptist church officiating. The bearers were Wendell, Paul, and Jasper Higgins and Harland Benner. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The many beautiful flowers spoke of the esteem in which she was held by her friends. Out of town relatives and friends attending were, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Benner, Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Norris, Fairfield; Mr. and Mrs. Grover Bradford, Charleston; Mr. and Mrs. Will Higgins, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Parker, Earl Parker, Miss Lucy Higgins, Mrs. Helen Gray, Dover-Foxcroft; Miss Estelle Nadeau, Old Town; Bert Higgins and John Higgins, Sebec.
