Obituary
Calvin A. Fassett Calvin A. Fassett died last Thursday at his home on Free street, after a long period of ill health. He was born in Freeman 76 years ago, the son of the late Josiah and Clara Herring Fassett. He came to Dexter from Abbot 50 years, ago to work in the Fay & Scott machine shop, where he was employed almost continuously until eight years ago. He is survived by his widow, who was before her marriage, Miss Harriet Taylor of Winslow; by a sister, Mrs. Eva Stevens of Dexter; by two nieces, Mrs. Ernest Widdoes, who has lived with Mr. and Mrs. Fassett on Free street for several years, Mrs. Verne Herrick of Beverly, Mass.; and a nephew, Dennis Fassett, of Lynchburg, Va. Mr. Fassett had been for many years a member of the First Universalist church of Dexter and he was a member of Penobscot lodge, F. and A. M., and of Plymouth lodge of Odd Fellows. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home, Rev. William J. Metz officiating. The bearers were Lester Murray, Charles S. Wyman, Walter E. Hill and Charles G. Chandler.
