Obituary
Mrs. Mary Haines Jayne The many friends of Mrs. Mary Haines Jayne of Brooklyn, N. Y., will be sorry to learn of her death which occurred in Sea View hospital, Staten Island, N. Y., Jan. 26, at 10:35 A. M. She had been in ill health for a number of months but that her trouble was severe, her friends did not realize and she, herself, expected to be back at work in a few days. On Friday night, Jan. 25 she suffered an attack of indigestion and only lived a few hours. She leaves to mourn her loss, a son, Walter H. Jayne and wife and two grandchildren of Minneapolis, Minn; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Susie Haines of Yonkers, N. Y. and several nepbews and other distant relatives. Mary Haines was born in Dexter on June 15, 1869. She was the daughter of Dr. George A. and Martha Severance Haines and lived in the old home on Main street now owned by heirs of the late Wm. Morrison. She was a graduate of Dexter High school in the class of 1887. She married John W. Jayne of New York, who died several years ago. She had two children, a daughter, Helen, who died in infancy; and a son, Walter H. Jayne. She was a member of Sunset Chapter, 615 0. E. S. of Brooklyn. Services were held at the Steel Memorial chapel in Staten Island, Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 2 P. M. The remains were sent to Dexter and in the Spring will be placed in the family lot in Elmwood cemetery. Those attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Jayne of Minneapolis; Mrs. Susie Haines of Yonkers, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Bunker of Bagota, N. J. and the 0. E. S. chapter of which she was a member.
