Obituary
Alonzo Morrison Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock for the late Alonzo Morrison who died Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. N. Pierce on Maple street. The services were held at the Pierce home and were conducted by a cousin of Mr. Pierce, Rev. Nelson E. Canfield, pastor of the Methodist church in Corinna. He was assisted by Rev. Ondon D. Stairs, pastor of the local First Baptist church. The bearers were Manville D. Russell, Leslie W. Davis, Harry W. Brawn and Harry J. Weymouth. The deceased was born in Linneus, May 10, 1854, the son of the late Sylvenus Morrison and Nancy Jane Freeman. He was a resident of Dexter for the last 32 years. His widow, Mrs. Mary Agnes Morrison, survives him; a daughter, Mrs. C. N. Pierce, a son, Charles W. Morrison, both of Dexter; a brother, Jefferson D. Morrison of Dexter; a sister Mrs. May Diteman of Yakima, Washington; a half sister Mrs. Georgia Weed of Scarboro; and four grandchildren, Reynold N., Dean S., and Helen B. Pierce, and Mrs. Margaret Shields, all of Dexter, and two great grandchildren, Ronald Eugene Shields and Shirley Jean Shields of Dexter.
