Obituary
Edward E. Cleaves Dies After Long Illness Edward E. Cleaves, 67, died Wednesday at the local hospital after a long illness. Born February 20, 1880 at St. Joseph, Canada, the son of Alfred and Delvina Groleau Cleaves, he was a resident of Dexter for 54 years. He was married to the late Nellie LaFontaine. He was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church, and was employed as a weaver in the Dumbarton mill for over 40 years until his retirement three years ago. Surviving are a son, Dennis M. of Dexter; three daughters, Mrs. George Lawless, Canton, Mass.; Mrs. Francis E. Pooler, Philadelphia, Pa.; Miss Geraldine Cleaves of Dexter; two brothers, Frank of Dexter, Norbert of Bangor; four sisters, Mrs. George Millett and Mrs. Celecte Nichols, Bangor; Mrs. Louise Poulliot and Mrs. Victoria Clukey, of Dexter; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Annes's Catholic Church Friday morning at 9 o'clock, the Rev. C. J. Enright officiating. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery in the spring.
