Obituary	George L. Morrison George L. Morrison. 91, a well-known and highly respected retired business man died Tuesday night at his home on Spring Street after a long period of failing health. Mr. Morrison was born in Tillycoultry, Scotland, January 13, 1847, coming to this country and Dexter with his parents, John and Jean Morrison when sixteen years of age. In 1875 he was united in marriage with Miss Christina Forsyth of Scotland. She passed away fifteen years ago. As a young man he became interested in the woolen business in Dexter, later owning and operating woolen mills in Hartland and Ellsworth. In 1901 he returned to Dexter and entered the dry goods business which he carried on successfully for twenty years until his retirement to private life. Mr. Morrison was one of the oldest Odd Fellows in the state having joined Plymouth lodge in Dexter in 1873. Later, after moving to Hartland upon the organization of a lodge in that town, he transferred his membership to Hartland lodge, No.101 and became one of the charter members, retaining his membership in that lodge until his death. The deceased is survived by three daughters, Misses Marion and Margaret Morrison and Mrs. Agnes Safford. Private funeral services were held at the home this afternoon at two o'clock and interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The bearers were Eugene Sampson, Clifford Gilbert, Charles Davis and Harry Wilkins. Friends were asked to omit flowers. George L Morrison was the last of three brothers, widely known figures in the woolen mill industry, John L. and William having passed away a number of years ago.
