Obituary
Jonas H. Hall The funeral of Jonas H. Hall, 53, was held from the Methodist church Monday afternoon, at 2:30, by the Rev. Loren Dow. The Odd Fellow service was read by the Noble Grand and Chaplain of Plymouth lodge, I. 0. 0. F., and members of the lodge attended in a body accompanied by a delegation of Canton members in uniform, and ladies from Martha Washington Rebekah lodge. The bearers were, Albert Bentley, Everett Bennett, Carl Olsen and Paul Higgins. Interment was in the family lot at Corinna Center. The many friends of Mr. Hall were shocked to learn of his sudden death early Saturday morning at his home on Liberty street. He was born in Corinna, the son of Pearley and Flora Hall and had made his home in this town for 33 years, where he was employed at Fay & Scott machine shop. Prominent in Odd Fellowship, he was past grand of Plymouth lodge, past chief patriach of Silver Lake encampment, and past captain of Canton Dexter. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Hall, lady president of the State Association Ladies' Auxiliaries, I. O. O. F.; two sons, Harold of Dover-Foxcroft and Donald, of Biddeford; a daughter, Mrs. Leon Matthews of Kittery; a grandson, Robert Matthews of Kittery; a granddaughter, Ann Hall of Dover-Foxcroft, one sister, Mrs. Raymond Jones of Lynn, Mass; a brother, Guy M. Hall of Dexter, and several nephews and nieces.
