Obituary	John M. Mooney The community was greatly shocked to learn of the untimely death of John M. Mooney, Friday forenoon, September 2. He had experienced poor health for several years, but for the past few weeks his ever growing weaker and suffering condition, caused him to become despondent. He was a man admired for his thoroughly clean mind and habits, and genial disposition and wherever he lived he made many friends who deeply regret his passing. Mr. Mooney was born in Bolton, Quebec, August 24, 1878, the son of James and Clara Cousens Mooney, and lived there until a young man, when he went to Boston and entered the employ of an ice company. From that time he has always associated with the ice business until he was obliged to retire because of ill health. For eighteen years he was a valued employee of the Boston Ice Company, later being with the Winter Hill Ice Company for several years and finally working eight years with Kelley and West in Malden, Mass. He has been a resident of Dexter for the past seven years, making his home with Mrs. Helen P. Hatch and son Norman Hatch. He married Agnes Peasley of Bolton, and to them were born three children. He is survived by a son, Ackland, of Newport, Vt.; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Hunter of Canada; three grandchildren; a brother, Clarence, in Sascatehewan, Canada; three sisters, Mrs. Stella Peasley, Bolton, Que., Mrs. Maggie A. Martin, Chelmsford, Mass. and Mrs. Martha Longfellow, of Allston, Mass. A daughter died four years ago. The son came to a Dexter and accompanied the remains to Bolton, Quebec, where services were held and burial was beside his father and mother in the Episcopal Cemetery. He was a member of the New England Order of Protection.
