Harry J. Weymouth Harry J. Weymouth, a prominent Dexter retired business man, was found dead in bed Tuesday morning at his home on Spring street, where he resided with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Seavey. He was born in Corinna, December 5, 1867, the son of Joseph and Emily Weymouth. In 1889 he was united in marriage to Miss Nellie V. Strout, and about five years later moved to Dexter where he bought the Bement farm on lower Main street, now owned by Stanley Martin. He was a member of the firm of Sampson & Weymouth, hay buyers and pressers for several years, after which he carried on an extensive milk business and also sold farm machinery and fertilizer. He became interested in potato growing and marketing and was the first farmer in this section of Maine to go into this business on a large scale. He was later associated with the firm of Hannaford Brothers of Portland as a potato buyer. He was prominent in town and social affairs, serving the town as a second selectman, and as road commissioner for many years. He was a member of Bedivere lodge, Knights of Pythias, and attended the First Universalist church. Fifteen years ago be moved to California where he resided until the death of Mrs. Weymouth, two years ago, when he returned to Dexter. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Carl D. Gordon of Los Angeles; one brother, Arthur P. Weymouth of Waterville; a sister, Mrs. Mildred M. Hamilton of Dexter; two nephews, H. Stanley Weymouth of Augusta and Laurence Weymouth of Plainfield, N. J.; three nieces, Mrs. Ray V. Whitmore of Dexter, Mrs. Ralph R. Thompson of Belfast, and Miss Helen Weymouth of Waterville. Funeral services, will be held from the Universalist church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock D. S. T. with the Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson officiating. The Eastern Gazette 6-30-1938, p.5 Harry J. Weymouth Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the First Universalist church for Harry J. Weymouth, Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchin- son officiating. There was a profusion of flowers which bespoke the esteem of many friends and the service was largely attended. The bearers were Arthur W. Levensellar, A. Q. Thompson, Fred Tibbetts, Ira Merrill, Harry Seavey, and H. W. Fish. The remains were taken to Huntington Park, Cal., for burial in the family lot with Mrs. Weymouth who passed away a few years ago. Commital services will be held at the grave. Among those from out of town in attendance at the services were Mr. Weymouth's daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Carl D. Gordon, of Huntington Park, Cal., Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hamilton, Greenville; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Weymouth, Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Almon Nutter, Mars Hill; Mrs. Ralph R.
