Walter A. Dunlap The Dexter friends of Walter A. Dunlap were shocked to learn of his death Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Abigail York, in Penobscot where he had made his home for the past five years. He had been the guest of his daughter, Mrs. Helen Higgins, for two weeks returning Wednesday to attend the graduation of his granddaughter, Annabelle York, which was held that evening. Early Thursday morning he suffered a shock which paralyzed his left side and throat. Mr. Dunlap was born in Ripley June 25, 1869 the only child of William S. and Sarah Seavey Dunlap. When a young men he moved to Lawrence, Mass. where he conducted a fish business for several years. On September 2, 1888 he was married to Miss Annie Bean of Lawrence who died 16 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Dunlap moved to their farm on the Ripley road about 40 years ago and he made his home their until he went to Penobscot. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen Higgins of Dexter and Mrs. Abigail York of Penobscot; three grandchildren, Annabelle, Clarence and Erwin York of Penobscot. Funeral services were held at the Penobscot church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Clifford McDonald of Searsport officiating. Interment was in the cemetery in Penobscot.
