Lois Woodward FORMER DEXTER WOMAN TAKES HER LIFE Apparently broken-hearted over the death of her husband, four weeks ago in a Bangor hospital, Mrs. Lois Woodward, 31, shot herself through the temple with a .44 rifle Monday afternoon at her home in Atkinson. Mrs. Ida Woodward, her sister-in-law, left the house between 12:40 and 1 o'clock and on her return found a bedroom door locked and no sign of her sister-in-law. Forcing open the door she found the young widow's body lying on the bed. Dr. A. M. Carde, medical examiner of Milo, pronounced it a case of suicide. Mrs. Woodward was born in Dexter the daughter of Harry and Delia S. Hatch She is survived by a young son, Stillman, five brothers, Francis Hatch and Alton Hatch of Dexter; Hiram Hatch of Newport; Walter Hatch of Corinna; Ray Hatch of New Jersey; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Collicut of Bangor; Mrs. Mary Nutter of Newport, and Mrs. Clifford Parker of Guilford. Funeral services were held at the Hayes Funeral home in Dover-Foxcroft Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. Herman Grant officiating.
