Obituary
Frank A. Packard Funeral services for Frank A. Packard, 73, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home on Zion's Hill, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson of the First Universalist church, officiating. Floral tributes were in profusion. Mrs. Eldin Gould sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The End of a Perfect Day". The bearers were James Boynton, Burnes Nelson, Horace Hopkins and Hadley Hopkins. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Out of town relatives and friends attending the services included: Dr. and Mrs. Walter Hadley of South Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Steeves, Millinocket; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Chadbourne, Vance Wakefield and Herbert Hopkins, Bath; Mrs. Elizabeth Bodge, Connecticut; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Speed, Corinth. Mr. Packard passed away Friday afternoon at his home following several months' illness. He was born in St. Albans, June 14, 1868, the son of the late Leonard and Mary Packard. He came to Dexter in 1907 where he has been engaged in painting and interior decorating, being one of the oldest painting contractors in town. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Packard; two sons, Allerd and Wilbur Packard; a granddaughter, Miss Helen Packard, all of Dexter; a nephew, Edgar Steeves, Millinocket; and a niece, Mrs. Erma Merrow, Hartland.
