Obituary	Mary A. Haines, 89, widow of John W. Haines, died at her home in Augusta Monday evening, December l, after a brief illness. Born July 11, 1858 in Dexter, the daughter of Nathan F. and Augusta (Parshley) Roberts, she was a resident of this town up until several years ago, when she went to Augusta to make her home with her son, Frank W. and family. Mrs. Haines and her husband were both musical, and very active in the community life. She served as deputy Town Clerk over a period of years, when her husband's failing health made it impossible for him to perform the duties of Town Clerk and also served in the same position for her son, Frank.She is survived by a son, Frank W., of Augusta, three grandchildren, Frank Jr., of Augusta; Lieut. (JG) John B. of Key West, Fla., and Mrs. Ralph Hurd of Dexter and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Crosby funeral home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Douglas H. Robbins, pastor of the First Universalist church of Augusta, officiated. Interment was in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
