Obituary	Mrs. Harold A. Gleason The funeral services for Helen Silver Gleason, wife of Harold A. Gleason, Arlington, Mass., were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Willis Crosby, Zion's Hill, at two o'clock on Monday afternoon. The Rev. Herbert Livingston of the Congregational church of Dover-Foxcroft officiated. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Willis Haseltine, Horace Gordon, Thomas Smart of this town, Ervin Leighton, Ralph Jackson of Silver's Mills, and Arthur Weymouth of Waterville served as bearers. Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. C. Bartlett Rawson of Ardmore, Penn., she is survived by a brother Arthur E. Silver of Upper Montclair N. J., and two sisters, Miss Mary H. Silver of Dexter, and Mrs. Aylmer D. Grant of Sangerville. There are also several nieces and nephews. An older sister, Angelene M. Silver died in 1918. Mrs. Gleason passed away suddenly at the Massachusetts Osteopathic hospital, Jamaica Plain, on July 14th after an apparently good recovery from a series of operations which had taken place during the spring. She was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Rebecca Dearth Silver, of Silver's Mills, Maine, where she was born on January 16, 1883. She had her early schooling at the District No. 9 school and graduated from Dexter High school in 1902. In the fall of that year she went to Palisades Park, N. J. to live, taking a business school course in New York City. From then until her marriage she held positions in New York City and Sharon, Penn. On July 7th, 1909, she was married at the family home in Silver's Mills to Harold Gleason, grandson of the late Maria Blanchard Titus of West Garland, Maine. For six years Mr. and Mrs. Gleason made their home in Arlington, Mass., where their only child, a daughter, Evelyn, was born. From 1917 to 1925 they resided in Thomaston, Maine. Here Mrs. Gleason was active in the Grace Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, and in the Congregational church. Since that time she has lived in Arlington except for an intervening period of three years in Bedford, Mass. A wide diversion of characteristics: loyalty, understanding and devotion to family and friends, patience, fortitude, and a will to overcome difficulties, a keen mind for the appreciation of youth and beauty in life, and a sparkling disposition endeared her to a large circle of relatives and friends. Also outstanding was her ardent love of the out-of-doors and a steadfast interest in her native town and State. She will long be remembered for her gentle nature and willing spirit.
