Mrs. Florence Hoyt Mrs. Florence Hoyt died at the home of her son, Jesse Hoyt, Wednesday morning at 6:30 o'clock following a severe illness of two weeks, and several months of failing health. She was born in Veazie April 1, 1854, the daughter of Thomas and Malona Additon, and moved to Dexter with her parents when she was a small child. She attended the local schools and resided in Dexter until her marriage to William Hoyt of Ripley, who passed away in 1921. Since her husband's death she has spent most of her years in this town. Mrs. Hoyt had been a valued member of the Ripley Methodist church for 48 years, and at the time of her death was an honorary member of Dexter Grange, having been active in the order for a great many years, serving in the capacity of lecturer and holding many other offices. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Josephine Kimball of Los Angeles, Calif.; Miss Eunice Hoyt of Waterville, Mrs. Bertha Haseltine of Ripley and Mrs. Louise Robinson of Dexter; a son, Jesse Hoyt of Dexter, several grand children, seven great grandchildren and a number of nephews and nieces. A son, Arthur, who resided in Nevada, died ten years ago. Funeral services will be held at the residence of Jesse Hoyt Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Loren Dow of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be in Ferndale cemetery at Ripley.
