Elmer A. Fortier, Jr. Funeral services for Elmer A. Fortier, Jr., 25, will be held at the home on Park street Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson officiating, and burial will be at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Dexter friends were shocked and greatly saddened to learn, Tuesday, of the death of Mr. Fortier by suicidal drowning. The body was taken from the Charles River in Boston after a note had been found on a nearby bridge requesting that his roommate at Boston University be notified. No reason is known for his desire to take his own life. Elmer Fortier, Jr. was born in Brookline, Mass., September 30, 1913, the son of Elmer A. and Gertrude Dearth Fortier. He came to Dexter with his parents when a boy, and received his education in the Dexter schools, having graduated from N. H. Fay High school with honors. He was also a graduate of Bowdoin n college and at the time of his death was a student at Boston University. Following graduation at Bowdoin he was employed in Boston for a time returning to Dexter where be was associated with his father in the Dexter Pharmacy, until the latters re- then went to Boston for graduate tirement several months ago. He work at B. U. The deceased was a very popular young man and unusually well liked by a host of friends who extend sincerest sympathy to the bereaved parents in the loss of their only child.
