Obituary
Mrs. Winnifred J. Nutter Mrs. Winnifred J. Nutter, widow of the late Charles W. Nutter, passed away at her home on Church street Thursday evening, following an illness of several weeks. She was 72 years of age, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Jackson, who formerly resided on lower Main street. Mr. and Mrs. Nutter celebrated their golden wedding in February, 1938, and Mr. Nutter died the following August. Mrs. Nutter had been a resident of this town practically all her life and had many friends who regret her passing. Funeral services were conducted at the residence Sunday afternoon by Mrs. Mary Drake Jenne of Etna, a personal friend of many years standing, and were attended by many neighbors and acquaintances. The bearers were Jean Pomroy, Robert Bennett, George Richards and James Cookson. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant cemetery. Surviving are a son, Ralph E. of Dexter, an adopted daughter, Mrs. Hugh McDougall of Ridgefield, N. J. and a brother, Frederick H. Jackson of Boston.
