Obituary	William H. Hurd William H. Hurd, 80, died Thursday morning at his home on Prospect street after several months of ill health. He was a native of Corinth, Maine, his parents dying when he was a small child. His early life was spent in Minneapolis, Minn., where he did market gardening before returning to Maine. In 1887 he married Miss Ellie E. Pettengill and they resided in Ripley on the farm where Mrs. Hurd was born, until 13 years ago, at which time they moved to Dexter village. He was a member of Dexter Grange for many years and served as janitor of the hall for eight years, retiring last fall because of failing health. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ellie E. Hurd, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Hill, Mrs. Donald Stewart, one son, Roland Hurd, and also six grandchildren, all of Dexter. He also leaves a cousin Gerald Coole of Waverly, Mass. Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. K. R. Hutchinson officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant.
