Obituary
Miss Vera E. Page The many friends of Miss Vera E. Page were saddened to learn of her death Sunday at the Fairfield sanatorium where she had been a patient for only a few weeks. She was born in St. Albans, March 20, 1902, the daughter of the late Corydon and Iva Page but lived the greater part of her life in Dexter, where she attended the local schools and graduated from Dexter High school. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. She leaves besides her mother, with whom she has always been very closely associated, an aunt, an uncle and several cousins. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. F. Ernest Smith of Rockport, a former pastor officiating, assisted by Rev. Frederick Niles. A beautiful duet was rendered by the Gospel Singers, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson of Pittsfield, and Mrs. Johnson sang, Good Evening Down Here and Good Morning Up There. Miss Elaine Gilbert was at the organ. There were many beautiful floral tributes and a large number of friends attended to pay final tribute to the deceased. Burial was in the Nutter cemetery in Corinna where commital services were conducted. Bearers were George Safford, Donald Webber, Harold McKenney and Guy M. Hall.
