Obituary
Arthur R. Levenseller Arthur R. Levenseller, 74, died Monday forenoon, at his home on Maple street following a shock, and a long period of poor health. He was born in Holden, Maine, August 25, 1866, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Levenseller. He married Bertha E. Clark, who survives him. Mr. Levenseller, who was a resident of Dexter forty-nine years, was long prominent in town affairs having served for many years as road comrnissioner, also as tax collector and was deputy sheriff for a time. He has been foreman of the W. P. A. road work several years. He was always interested in the welfare of the community and served the town faithfully in whatever office he might have held. He was a member of Penobscot lodge, F. and A. M. and the Knights of Pythias. Besides his wife he leaves one son, Arthur Earl Levenseller, of Dover-Foxcroft; a granddaughter, Mrs. John Bell, of Portland and one brother, Will Levenseller of Boston. Funeral services were held from the horne Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson of the Universalist church officiating. The active beraers were Fay Field, Elwin Farnham, Jasper Higgins, and Earl Crowell, the honorary bearers being Peter S. Plouff, Fred O. Herrick, Percy A. Hasty and Charles Brewster. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
