Obituary
Mrs. Carrie Tupper Mrs. Carrie Tupper, 72, widow, of Fred Tupper, died Sunday at her home on the Dover Road after a long illness. She was born in Monmouth, the daughter of Harry and Sarah Gilley Day, February 15, 1869, but lived the greater part of her life in Dexter where she will be greatly missed both in the home and by her many friends and neighbors who knew her for her Christian sincerity and thoughtfulness of others. She leaves two daughters, Blanche and Laura Tupper and one son Frederick, all of whom are at home, also two nephews, Harry Ladd of Brownville and Fred Cummings, of Pittsfield. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Ondon P. Stairs officiating. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery and the bearers were Will Austin, Merle Parkman, Freeman Easler, and Robert Batey. There were many beautiful floral tributes. Among those from out of town attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ladd, of Brownville, Mrs. Ethel Hall and two sons, George and Robert, and Mrs. Bertha Rocke, of Brooklyn, N. Y., Mr. Lennie Tupper and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Higgins of Dedham, Mass., Mrs. Cora Mitchell and daughter, Lois, of South Portland.
