Obituary
Fred H. Bridges Fred Hursey Bridges, a former Dexter resident, passed away Monday at his home in Wells, Maine after a few days' illness. He was born in Marion, Maine November 25, 1864, the son of Charles and Kathryn Bridges. When a young man he came to Dexter and made his home in this town and Exeter for many years. In June 1902 he was united in marriage to Lulu C. Russell of Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. Bridges moved to California about twenty-five years ago, remaining there for six years. When they returned to Maine they purchased a home in Wells where they conducted a summer resort, spending their winters in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Bridges was a member of Dexter Grange and Plymouth Lodge, I. O. O. F. Funeral services were held at the home in Wells Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock and Odd Fellows services were read at Ramsay and Gates funeral parlors Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Surviving besides his wife are three sisters, Mrs. Addie V. Bridges, Whitneyville; Mrs. Millie Pennell Machias; Mrs. M. D. Wentworth, Veazie; three brothers, Ralph Bridges, Calais; Rex P. Bridges, Bangor; Earl P. Bridges, Dexter, and several nieces and nephews. Out of -town relatives and friends attending the services were, Mrs. Millie Pennell, Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Wentworth, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bridges, Rex P. Bridges; Mr. and Mrs. Andra Foss, Machias; Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Russell, Augusta; E. F. Russell, Gardiner; Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Russell Charleston; Mrs. Cecil Rowe, Portland; Mr. and Mrs. G. Leon Aiken, Conway, N. H.
