Obituary
Miss Dora Ireland Dies At. Bangor Hospital Miss Dora M. Ireland of Dexter, age 81, died Tuesday morning, August 19, in a Bangor convalescent home where she had been cared for the past four years. She had been in failing health over a long period of time. Miss Ireland was born in Bangor, July 17, 1864 the daughter of Benjamin and Caroline Shaw Ireland of Dexter. A Printer by trade, she was one of the first employees at the Eastern Gazette. She also he1d positions with the Christian Herald, Boston, Mass., and worked for a number of years in the printing office at Pittsfield, Me. The deceased was member of the First Baptist church, always very active in the Young Peoples Christian Endeavor, and organist there for several years. She was a charter member of Rebecca Weston chapter, D. A. R. Survivors are her twin sister, Mrs. Cora Bragdon; a niece, Mrs. Lloyd Wentworth; a grandniece, Patricia Wentworth; and a grandnephew, Richard Wentworth, all of Dexter. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, August 21, from the First Baptist church. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
