Obituary
Kenneth H. Haines Kenneth Hoffman Haines, 38, passed away Monday morning at the Hospital of the Good Shepherd at Syracuse, N. Y., following a week's illness of pneumonia. He was born in Dexter the son of the late Dr. Charles H. Haines and Susie Gove Haines. He graduated from Dexter High school in the class of 192l and from the Chicago College of Dental surgery. An accomplished musician, he traveled with John R. Van Arnum's Minstrel show for eight years, and played in the band of Ringling Bros., Stark's Circus and Tom Mix Circus. For the past year he has been playing in the Syracuse Symphony orchestra under the leadership of Andre Polah. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Daisy Nichols Haines of Syracuse, formerly of Oneonta, N Y.; his mother, Mrs. Susie Haines of Yonkers, N. Y.; one brother, C. Favor Haines of Dexter, and several cousins. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of his cousin, Mrs. Clarence Beverly, Spring street, with the Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson of the First Universalist church officiating. The bearers were Hugh Hutchins, Francis Pooler, Clarence Beverly, and Byron Joy. Interment was in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. Relatives from out of town attending the services were, Mrs. Daisy Haines of Syracuse; Mrs. Susie Haines of Yonkers; Mr. and Mrs. Byron Joy of Rumford; Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Tate of Old Town, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Gove of Waterville, W. H. Hall, Dover-Foxcroft.
