Obituary	R. Wallace Nutter Richard Wallace Nutter, 79, retired principal of Beebe Junior High and Center school in Malden, Mass, died in St. Petersburg, Fla., Sunday, March 2, where he had been spending the winter months. He retired from the Malden school system in June 1931, and since that time had been going to Florida winters. Mr. Nutter was born in Dexter September 17, 1861, and received his education in the local schools. After graduating from Dexter High school he went to Bates college, graduating from there in 1884. He also took special courses at Harvard summer school. In 1898 he went from Lawrence to Malden to become principal of the Center school. He had previously taught in Lynn. In September 1928 he was named principal of the new Beebe Junior High, and served in the Malden Common council several years. He was principal in Dexter high school, also superintendent of the local schools for many years before going to Massachusetts. Funeral services were held in the Malden Universalist church last Thursday, with the Congregationalist minister, a personal friend of Mr. Nutter's, assisting in the service. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Blanche Atkins, of this town, and a grandson, Richard Nutter Wescott, a second-year student at Harvard Medical school, and son of Charles H. and the late Hazel Nutter Wescott of Providence. Mr. Nutter's wife died in June, 1939.
