Obituary
Charles B. Parkman Funeral services for Charles B. Parkman, 77, were held from his home on Zion's Hill Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Robert Holcomb of the Free Baptist church officiating. The bearers were, Charles S. Brewster, Harry Young, Herbert Woodard, and Weston Howard. The remains were placed in the tomb at Mount Pleasant cemetery and burial will be atthe Morse's Corner cemetery in Corinna. Among those attending the services from out of town were Elmer Spooner and sons of Skowhegan, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Bemis, Levant; Frederick Hicks, Providence, R. I; Mrs. May Hicks, Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Clair Willey, Clinton; Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Parkman and son, Edward, Garland; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Speed, East Corinth; Edith Knowles and son, Thurlow, Mrs. Annie Young, and Mrs. Lidie Felker, Corinna. Mr. Parkman passed away Friday morning following a several weeks' illness from double pneumonia. He was born in Skowhegan, June 23, 1863, the son of William and Jane Parkman, and had been a resident of Dexter for the past thirty years, residing in Exeter and Corinna before coming to this town. He was a deacon of the Free Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Parkman; a daughter, Mrs. G. C. Davis of Dexter; an adopted son, Maurice Parkman, of Garland; a granddaughter, Mrs. Frederick Hicks of Providence, R..I.; three nieces, Mrs. Agnes Lawrence of Corinna, Mrs. Mary Peavey of Newport, and Mrs. Florence Colbath of Exeter, and one nephew, Elmer Spooner of Skowhegan.
