Obituary
Mrs. Mary LaFontaine Mrs. Mary LaFontaine, widow of the late Felix LaFontaine, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Nichols, early Monday morning after a few hours' illness. She was enjoying her usual health and spent Sunday at the home of her son, Louis. Her sudden passing came as a shock to her family and friends. She was 84 years, 7 months of age and was born in St. Victor, Quebec, the daughter of Gott and Mary Poulin, coming to Dexter when she was only a young girl where later she married Felix LaFontaine. Since the death of her husband in 1928, she has lived most of the time with her daughter, Mrs. Edward Nichols with whom she was at the time of her death, and who has faithfully cared for her during her declining years. Her kind and loving disposition won the friendship of all who knew her and she will be deeply missed by her family and a wide circle of other relatives and friends. She was a devoted member of St. Ann's Catholic church. She leaves to mourn their loss eight children: Mrs. Maude Therien, Berlin, N. H.; Mrs. Rosie Clukey, Mrs. Delora Nichols, Mrs. Minnie Richards, Mrs. Delvine McDonald all of Dexter; Mrs. Georgie Veno, Rochester, N. H.; Louis LaFontaine of Dexter and Edward LaFontaine of Haverhill, Mass. Two brothers, Edwin Poullin and Augustus Poulin of Dexter, besides 20 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at St. Ann's church, with Fr. LeClair officiating. The bearers were six grandsons, Albert Baskett, Dennis Cleaves, Jerome, Lester, Raymond Clukey, and Gerald Veno. Those attending the funeral from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Adelard Therien, Berlin, N. H.; Mr. and Mrs. Edward LaFontaine, Haverhill, Mass.; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Veno, Rochester, N. H.; Mrs. Arthur Wallace, Kingston, N. Y.; Mr. and Mrs. Frederick LaFontaine, Mrs. Marion Baskett, Newport, N. H.; Miss Anne Cullen, Rochester, N. H.; Gerald Veno, Rochseter, N.
