KENNETH O. STAFFORD RIPLEY - Kenneth O. Stafford, 94, died September 24, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital following a brief illness. He was born May 24, 1907 at Hartland the son of Alvah and Lucelia (Osborne) Stafford. Ken worked in the woods for many years. He also owned and operated K.O.'s Tydal Gas Station in Ripley for 15 years and worked at Fay-Scott Machine Shop in Dexter for 20 years, retiring in 1971. Ken enjoyed baseball games, coin collecting and trout fishing. He was a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church and the Penobscot Lodge # 39 AF & AM. Ken was predeceased by a son Cecil in 1943, his wife Mary, who died in 1988, 2 brothers, Cecil and Merton, and a sister Annie. He is survived by a son Kenneth M. Stafford and his wife Judith of Dexter; a grandson, Ken of Hudson; 3 grand-daughters, Beth Myric of Standish, Patricia Laferrier of Portland and Amy Stafford of Seattle, Washington; 4 great grandchildren; as well as a dear friend Marguerite Sherburne of Dexter. Friends may call at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. Wednesday where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Thursday, September 27th, at the Ripley United Methodist Church with Pastor Lois Merrifield officiating. Burial will be in Ferndale Cemetery, Ripley.
