Obituary	OMAR W. ROBERTS SR DEXTER & CORINNA - Omar Roberts, Sr., 80, died August 4, 2001 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born July 6, 1921 at Dexter the son of Otis and Alice (Jackson) Roberts, Sr. He was a graduate of N. H. Fay High School, Class of 1939. Omar was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European theatre for 3 years. After his discharge, he joined his father in the dairy business until it was sold in 1967. He then worked for SAD #46 until his retirement in 1989. He served on the Board of Selectman, and later, the Town Council for 21 years. He was a charter member of the Dexter J.C.’s, and was also a member of the American Legion. He was predeceased by his brother, Otis Jr. in 1995. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Julia (Atwater) Roberts; one daughter Barbara Jean and husband Anthony Welch of Burke, Virginia; one son, Omar Roberts, Jr. of Dexter; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at the family lot, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 10 Bangor Street; Suite F; Augusta, ME 04338. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
