Obituary	DEATH OF FORMER DEXTER WOMAN IN MILLINOCKET The many friends of Mrs. Clara Hayden Crossland were shocked to learn of her death Tuesday afternoon at the Morey Osteopathic hospital in Millinocket. She was taken ill Monday with a heart attack and on Tuesday was moved to the hospital where she died a few minutes after entering. She was born in Dexter, July 26, 1882, the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Sarah Bridgham Hayden, and had always lived in Dexter with the exception of a few years spent in Camden, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Crosby and the past nine years, since her father's death, in Millinocket. After graduating from Dexter High school she taught several terms in the local schools. On June 6, 1906 she was united in marriage to Dr. Harry M. Crossland, who died in 1908. For many years she was the Dexter correspondent for the Bangor Daily News. Mrs. Crossland was a past president of the Rebekah Assembly of Maine, a past noble grand of Martha Rebekah lodge, a member of Wassookeag chapter, 0. E. S., an honorary member of the Dexter Woman's Literary club, and an honorary member of Rebecca Weston chapter, D A. R. For several years she was the guardian of a group of Camp Fire Girls. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Baptist church at Millinocket, and the remains will be brought to Dexter Friday for another service at the First Universalist church a 1 o'clock, the pastor, the Rev. Kenneth R. Hutchinson officiating. Interment will be in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant cemetery. The only surviving relatives are an aunt, Mrs. Ida H. Folsom of Dexter, an uncle, A. L. Hayden of Corinna and eight cousins, John Bridgham, Grinnell, Iowa; Miss Etheline Bridgham, Boston; Albert Bridgham, Braintree, Mass.; Mrs. J. Gray Card, Somerville, Mass.; Archibald L. Hayden, Portland; Charles H. Folsom, Augusta; Mrs. James S. Yeo, and Miss Evelyn A. Folsom, Dexter.
