Obituary	Mrs. Bessie B. Tewksbury Mrs. Bessie B. Tewksbury, 56, wife of Ralph V. Tewksbury, died at her home on the Dover Road, December 25, after several years of failing health. She was born in Corinna the daughter of Charles F. and Emma Libby Bates, but the family moved to Dexter soon after, and she spent the rest of her lifetime in this town. Before her marriage she was a very successful teacher in the schools of Dexter and nearby towns for a number of years. Surviving are her husband; a brother, Carl Bates; a sister, Mrs. Earle Sawtelle; two nieces and two nephews all of Dexter; and two aunts, Mrs. Della Shorey, of Corinna, and Mrs. Clara Benfield, of St. Petersburg, Fla. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Crosby funeral parlor the Rev. J. K. Halliday of the First Baptist Church officiating. The bearers were Carl Bates, Earl Sawtelle, Clifton Lancaster, and Carl Tewksbury. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant in the spring.
