Obituary
Laurid Lauridsen Laurid Lauridsen, 72, one of Dexter's best known and highly respected business men, passed away at his home on High street Tuesday morning after an illness of several weeks' duration. Mr. Lauridsen, who was born in Boris, Denmark, came to this country when but twenty years of age. In early life he was married to Christine Peterson, who died twenty years ago. They moved to Dexter, with their family in 1915, where Mr. Lauridsen opened a tailor shop and has since carried on a successful tailoring and cleaning business. Several years ago he married Miss Nellie Gomez, who assisted him in his business. He was prominent in local Odd Fellow circles, and was a very active and interested member of Plymouth lodge, I. O. O. F., Silver Lake Encampment and of Canton Dexter. He was also a member of Martha Washington Rebekah lodge. He had served the several lodges in various offices and was a past noble grand a past chief patriarch and past Captain R. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Olga Thomas, of Roslindale, Mass.; Miss Elsie Ambrose, of Long Island, N. Y.; Mrs. Alma Wadsworth, of Roslindale, Mass.; three sons, Paul, of Old Orchard, Hugo, of Brewer and Clarence, of Hartland; four grandchildren; five brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held this afternoon, Thursday, at 2 o’clock at the First Universalist church, the Rev. Gordon C. Reardon officiating. Odd fellow services were also conducted. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant.
